Centres of Excellence, starting with AI
CoE-AI is ARIA's first Centre of Excellence. Additional centres in other technology domains are planned as ARIA grows.
IIIT Raichur · Section 8 Company
ARIA — the AI Research & Innovation Arena — is IIIT Raichur's institutional platform for research, innovation and startup incubation. Its first Centre of Excellence, CoE-AI, is approved and funded by the Government of Karnataka to build applied AI capacity across the region.
01 / What ARIA is
AI Research & Innovation Arena (ARIA) is a Section 8, not-for-profit company promoted by IIIT Raichur. It functions as the institute's research park — the shared platform through which applied research, startup incubation, and industry and government partnerships are carried out.
ARIA's work is organised through specialised Centres of Excellence. The first of these, CoE-AI, focuses on artificial intelligence and is approved and funded by the Government of Karnataka. As ARIA grows, further Centres of Excellence are planned across other technology domains, each drawing on ARIA's shared governance, infrastructure and incubation support.
02 / How we work
Every Centre of Excellence under ARIA follows the same integrated pathway — from foundational learning and shared infrastructure to experimentation, enterprise and wider adoption.
Practical learning through workshops, programmes and project-based experience.
Computing, prototyping and collaborative environments for system development.
Challenges, mentorship and applied research to shape solutions around real needs.
Incubation, partnerships and outreach that can move strong ideas towards impact.
03 / What ARIA builds
Beyond CoE-AI, ARIA operates as shared infrastructure for research, enterprise and talent — the functions below run across every centre it hosts.

04 / Leadership
Director's comment
We are creating an ambiance of excellence where students not only develop solutions for the problems known, but also learn how to define problems that have not yet surfaced.
